Gretchen Wharton
Gretchen Wharton, a native Washingtonian, is a passionate advocate for enhancing public amenities in her Shaw community. With a 30-year career at Xerox Corporation in marketing, sales, and global event management, she earned accolades like two President's Awards for exceptional customer service and achievements in program implementation and teamwork.
Her diverse experience spans marketing operations for major accounts, strategic alliances, and global trade shows, alongside roles like Executive Loan to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and Mayoral Transition Director for DC Government. At the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, she chaired key committees and sparked the city-wide Art All Night event, now a thriving 16-site celebration under Mayor Bowser.
A committed community leader, Gretchen has served with DC Special Olympics and Lisner-Louise-Dickson-Hurt Home, and currently chairs the Board of Shaw Main Streets.
