Welcome to my official site! I'm Ed Vodicka, and throughout my career as a pianist, arranger, conductor, composer, and music producer, I've been fortunate to wear many creative hats and collaborate with some of the top artists in the music industry. I began my education in Chicago, where I had the great fortune of studying with many of that city's jazz legends, and moved on to Los Angeles, where I established myself as one of the most in-demand jazz pianists/arrangers in the area, finding myself afforded the opportunity to perform in film and television, concerts, and theater.
To take advantage of all these opportunities in the music world, I created a record label and production company called Grand Songbook Music & Media, which enables me to create and collaborate in Hollywood, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. And today, my personal recordings are found on streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify; these include Portfolio, Let's Fall In Love, and Live at The Kennedy Center with the incomparable Bill Henderson.
I've also produced for PBS the film The Musicians' Green Book — An Enduring Legacy, a project very close to my heart as it celebrates the indomitable musicians who survived the adversity of racial segregation. You can see it on the streaming services PBS Passport and Amazon Prime. Thanks for stopping by. Take your time, enjoy the music, and the stories I've been lucky enough to bring to life.
